Cat Chhina is the Coordinator for the AFFIRM Project. Their areas of work and interest include: Community organizing, identity politics, restorative justice, radical vulnerability, anti-racist and intersectional practices, 2SLGBTQ (mental) health, and the therapeutic arts. Cat has worked as a support person, program coordinator, and facilitator in a variety of community-based and health settings. They have facilitated group programming for The Afghan Women’s Centre of Mississauga working with refugee and recently immigrated communities. They have also organized and facilitated art-based programming at Mississauga’s community hub, Studio 89. Cat has completed Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP) Facilitator training and is passionate about facilitating mental health peer support specific to 2SLGBTQ communities.
